Metropolis: A Land Before Our Time

Ever wondered how Janelle Monae came up with the theme to her previous and new album? Monae's creativity was inspired by an old 1920's classic called "Metropolis", a silent German science fiction film. Writer/ Novelist Thea von Harbou and director Fritz Lang created a movie taken place in the year of 2026. A futuristic film that highlights the control of computers, the power of the elite class, and the inhuman struggle of society as middle class become extinct, leaving only upper and lower class. Does any of this sound familiar? Think about it? This movie is the original "Matrix" and "Blad Runner". A classic masterpiece and head of it's time. Mark my words sooner or later Hollywood will attempt to remake this movie into a Blockbuster hit. Now how does Janelle Monae's concept have to do with the film? Instead of telling you I suggest to those who are interested, listen to Janelle Monae's previous and new album and read the the Novel "Metropolis" written by Thea von Harbou. There is a world of knowledge within these two sources. It's not hard to find...you just have to listen and observe. Be Inspired people.
